this is the last illegal knife release.

this was supposed to be a power electronics album.

i had recorded alot of screaming about things.
i put my tascam dr-07 mk2 on the dashboard of a car and screamed into it, as a recording booth, so noone could hear me. the vocals were supposed to be that way too, buried deep underneath distortion and noise so you can't actually hear them. i didn't want people to hear me, i only wanted the texture of my screaming to smear across the DAW like a hand smearing acrylic across a canvas.

but eventually i realized the things i was screaming about weren't unique, they were just the pains everyone experiences of growing up and growing away from the people who used to be so close to me. i wanted to finish it before i moved, but i didn't finish it in time.

but i still have the original drones i recorded. they have clipping in them, which is kind of unavoidable considering the equipment i used. they're just piano drones composed entirely by me with samples that i recorded.

i'm releasing these because i'm not sure i care to finish the PE concept. maybe someday if i'm feeling it again i'll make the original album, with all its harsh words that noone can hear, but i don't feel it anymore.

i am throwing these longings and resentments into the river and walking upstream. i'll find other things to scream about and express through music elsewhere.

illegal knife is over, i hope it never has to come back.
